ISIACC promotes alliances in Colombia on Climate Change
During the last months ISIACC Colombia has been working with different youth groups to develop strategies that enable the strengthening of actions on Climate Change in Colombia. This includes the creation of two research groups at local universities and the articulation of a youth process on climate change to get colombian youth to UNFCCC COP 15.

New volunteers needed in Colombia
New volunteers are needed in Colombia to strengthen the work of ISIACC Colombia. From January 2009, ISIACC Colombia opened a call for applications to volunteer with ISIACC in order to expand the reach of the initaitve in our country. The road to Copenhagen: a youth challenge
Following the evident stagnation, and perhaps reverse of the process of negotiations of the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol this December in Poznan, the road to Copenhagen represents a very important opportunity for young people both from developed and developing countries, affected by the climate change, to develop a process for influencing their governments in order to support and to strengthen the position of the G77 + China under the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and the right to development, to demand from Annex I countries and the industrialized countries are signatories to the UN Framework Convention, to meet their financial obligations, technology transfer and emission reduction, unconditionally and urgently.

Brazilian government adopts ISIACC recommendation
Environment Minister, Carlos Minc, announced this Friday 28th that Brazil has set official goals for deforestation reduction as part of the Climate Change National Plan. The measure is expected to result in significant advances in combating deforestation, which is responsible for nearly 75% of the country’s GHG emissions.

ISIACC promotes Climate Change Seminars in Brazil
Events brought students, professionals and policy-makers together to discuss public policies for forest conservation and climate change mitigation. In São Paulo two hundred seedlings of native trees from Atlantic Forest were planted on the Botanical Garden to compensate GHG emissions generated by the event.

Youth Encounter on Sustainability - YES 2008: applications now open!
A total of 40 places are available for the YES Central and Eastern Europe. Applications are welcomed from diverse disciplines and nationalities.
