The ISIACC team is a group of highly committed multidisciplinary graduate students and young professionals from across Latin America. The initiative was founded in 2004 and is supported by the Academia Engelberg foundation and ETHsustainability, the center for sustainability at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. ISIACC is currently focused on guiding and supporting public policies to reduce the net emissions of greenhouse gasses from Land-Use Change and Forestry in Latin America. Our teams are based in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, being advised by a panel of renowned experts from the scientific community and political arena.

Vision

To positively contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation in Latin America, with a focus on addressing the critical role of forests as carbon sources and sinks.

Mission

To be a dynamic organization that:

- bridges the divide between academia, policy making and civil society to actively engage stakeholders in the development and implementation of policies relevant for climate change mitigation and adaptation;

- has a tangible impact on forest management, improved livelihoods and biodiversity conservation in the region;

- provides a positive platform for personal development of members to realize their full potential to be agents of positive change in the region;

- has a strong and respected voice on issues related to climate change and is a leading example of positive and concrete action, particularly in the field of forests.
